Paige Counts, who introduced the county's live election coverage, said early returns in Caldwell County showed "Donnie pot Potter" leading the race for the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners with 23.5% of the vote, according to the coverage team.
The returns were partial: the broadcast reported 7 of 15 precincts had reported at the time. Because the count was incomplete, the coverage emphasized that percentages were provisional and subject to change as more precincts reported.
The Presenter relayed the live tallies announced on the broadcast. For the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners race the Presenter read: "Donnie pot Potter" 23.5%, Mike Labrose 22.45%, Jeremy Binge 20.84% and Cory Moore 15%.
In the school board contest, where voters will elect four candidates, the Presenter reported Teresa Branch at 20%; Joe Sims at 17%; "BJ 4" at 17.2%; Lisa Weiner at 14.3%; and Brandon Cornett at about 12.5%.
