Bluffton opens 'The Cove' landing pad with county and cooperative grants

Kevin Libby reported that the Town of Bluffton and the Don Ryan Center for Innovation held a ribbon-cutting for The Cove, a landing pad for prospective businesses in Buckwalter Place.

According to the broadcast, The Cove will offer leasable commercial space, economic development partner offices, and space on the first floor planned for a childcare center. Libby said the site is the second location for the Don Ryan Center and the first of three planned economic development buildings in Buckwalter Place, a 94-acre multijurisdictional commerce park intended to attract knowledge-based industries.

Funding for the project cited in the broadcast included a $130,000 grant from the Beaufort County Economic Development Corporation, a $1,000,000 grant from Palmetto Electric Cooperative through the South Carolina Power Team, and a $25,000 donation from the South Carolina Alliance.
