Elizabeth Sanders introduced to Beaufort County Transportation Advisory Committee; cites safety and connectivity priorities

The Transportation Advisory Committee opened discussion with the introduction of Elizabeth Sanders, who said she will push for safety and connectivity projects across Beaufort County.

Elizabeth Sanders, a 20-year Beaufort County resident and civil engineering graduate of The Citadel who said she previously served as a resident maintenance engineer with SCDOT, told the committee she can bring that experience to countywide roadway priorities. "I feel like I can bring that background to the committee, to discuss all areas of the county, not just District 4," Sanders said.

Sanders outlined district-level priorities she said she will press for, including safety enhancements at intersections and improved connectivity to reduce congestion. She named Reba Road and Lady's Island Drive as local areas of concern and referenced a recently funded project at Savannah Highway and Paris Island Gateway as an example of the kind of work she expects the committee to support. "Just bringing everyday real awareness of problems that we are all dealing with to the committee to be looked at as priorities," she said.
