The Oneida Special School District board voted to approve a contract with Panorama Education to consolidate student testing, RTI and other student data into a single digital platform.
Chair said the platform is intended to compile “all the different testing and data that we have on students that it can be compiled in 1 package,” and staff gave an estimated annual partnership cost of $21,407. A board member raised questions about differing quoted prices and service tiers; staff and the superintendent explained an introductory setup fee makes the first year higher and that ongoing annual costs are lower after setup.
Superintendent explained the district will need an initial setup year and training. "So we will have to pay the hire this first year, and we'll use the rest of our textbook money," the Superintendent said, describing how the district plans to fund the onboarding and training costs.
Principal and other staff said Panorama can pull data from existing systems including Skyward and a range of testing platforms, and that trial demonstrations and Zoom walkthroughs were completed to test compatibility. The Principal demonstrated how the platform would allow staff to view a student’s cumulative records in one place rather than searching multiple notebooks and platforms.
After discussion about pricing tiers, data migration and training, a board member moved to approve the contract and the clerk called the roll; the board’s listed members each voted aye and the Chair announced the motion carries.
The board did not provide a written contract excerpt in the meeting transcript; staff said the implementation will include training and integration work in the first year and that the district expects to monitor the system’s usefulness for teachers and interventions going forward.
