Board roundup: agenda, consent items, MOUs, tenure, budget amendments, resignations and fundraiser approved

The Oneida Special School District board approved a series of routine and personnel items in a single meeting session.

Early in the meeting the board approved the agenda and consent agenda by roll call. The Chair listed several memorandums of understanding and partnerships — including programs and partners such as HI Sports Network, Schools Together Allowing No Drugs Stand, Appalachian Life Quality Initiative, ALT WE grant, the Children’s Center of the Cumberlands personal body safety program, Grace Rehab Center, Stellar Therapy Services, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital Telehealth and Staff EZ of Tennessee — and the board approved those routine agreements.

Personnel actions approved included two tenure grants for Kevin Smithers and Heather Crabtree and board acceptance of four letters of resignation (three from coaching positions — David Blevins, Amber Baird, Kevin Smithers — and one cafeteria resignation, Brielle Williams). The board also approved budget amendments that move funds among categories (CTE, public safety, general purpose, pre‑K, ESSER) and approved a fundraiser request for Oneida High School cheerleading (pizza kits and a June cheer camp).

All cited motions were moved, seconded and carried by roll call; the clerk recorded aye votes from the listed board members and the Chair declared each motion carries. The meeting adjourned with plans to reconvene at the soccer field.
