Manassas Park board approves superintendent's FY25 proposed budget

The Manassas Park City Schools board on Wednesday approved the superintendent's proposed fiscal year 2025 budget after a brief presentation and a roll-call vote.

"Tonight, we present to you the superintendent's proposed budget for FY25 for action," the presenter told the board, noting no adjustments had been made since the February work session and a public hearing. A board member moved to approve the budget and the motion received a second; the board proceeded with a roll-call approval of the proposal, with members recorded as voting in favor.

The superintendent earlier had presented the proposal on Feb. 5 and the division held both a work session and a public hearing to review the plan, the presenter said. Board and staff discussion at the meeting was procedural and focused on whether any adjustments were necessary; none were made before the vote.

The board did not detail line-item changes during the motion; staff said they would continue the budget process consistent with prior presentations and timelines.
