County roads staff reported that work on Bridge 61 (Beta Road) has begun and that Beta Road is currently closed. The official said the county advertised its community crossings paving list and that bids will be opened at the March 17 meeting.
Staff distributed a candidate paving list that largely repeats previously submitted applications and cautioned that final funding is not guaranteed. Candidate roads named included Mount Eden Road, Delaney Park Road, Dutch Creek Road, Rush Creek Road, Walnut Ridge Road, Bud Miller Road and Mount Tabor Road. Staff said sections of each road—rather than necessarily the entire length—might be included depending on funding.
On the Highway 150 intersection widening, staff said INDOT has reviewed design plans and the county is waiting on a meeting with landowners; utility relocation could delay the work and, if utilities are not moved in time, the project might instead take place in 2027. The official said the county will try to push to complete sidewalk/widening work this year if possible.
What happens next: bids for community crossings paving will be opened March 17; staff will continue coordination with INDOT and landowners for Highway 150 intersection work and will report back as funding and schedules firm up.
