SJVIA board elects new chair and appoints strategic planning members

The San Joaquin Valley Insurance Authority board voted to elect Supervisor McCarrie as board chair and approved a vice chair as part of a slate of officers that will serve through the board’s first meeting in 2028. The officers’ terms begin immediately.

Board members conducted nominations after the roll call; the slate was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote. The board confirmed the officers would serve through the first meeting in 2028.

Later on the agenda, the board received a request to convene a strategic planning meeting for the SJVIA and appointed two board members to participate on the planning team. The board moved and approved the appointment of Supervisor McCarrie and the newly named vice chair to the planning team. The motion carried by voice vote.

No public comments were received on these governance items, and the board closed the meeting after announcing its next meeting date. The newly elected officers will preside over forthcoming meetings and any follow-up planning activities required by the board.
