The Saint Bernard City Council unanimously adopted two fiscal measures during its meeting.
Councilmember Schultmeyer moved to suspend the second and third readings of Resolution 5-2024, which "accept[s] the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorize[s] the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor," and Councilmember Esteb seconded. The clerk called the roll; the motion to suspend carried 7–0 and the council then voted to adopt the resolution, again 7–0.
Later on the agenda the clerk read Ordinance 29-2024, described as authorizing the auditor to provide additional appropriations and declaring an emergency, with an additional appropriation to General Fund 2 K 2 (miscellaneous) in the amount of $10,000. Councilmember Schultmeyer moved to suspend the second and third readings; Esteb seconded; the suspension and subsequent adoption each passed on roll call votes of 7 ayes, no nays.
The meeting record lists the seven council members recorded as voting "aye" on both measures: Mister Morton; Mister Stuchel; Mister Edwards; Miss Hausfeld; Mister Schildmair; Mister Culbertson; and Mister Esteb. The motions to suspend and to adopt were moved by Councilmember Schultmeyer and seconded by Councilmember Esteb, and President presided over the proceedings.
Both measures were adopted as read; no public comment was recorded on either item during the meeting. The council moved promptly through the readings and adjourned following remaining routine business.
