The Big Lake Public School District board approved its consent agenda and heard a brief financial update that showed enrollment is holding near budgeted levels.
The consent agenda included approval of previous meeting minutes, claims and accounts of $1,497,724.62, credit card and personnel reports, fundraisers and extended field trip requests. The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved by Sixberry and seconded by Nelson; one board member (Shabillion) announced an abstention and the motion carried.
Angie, presenting the financial report, said the district recorded a net increase of 24 students as of Feb. 2 and that the enrollment counted that morning remained steady. She said the enrollment change puts the district at its revised budget projection for general education aid and that no budget revisions were required at this time. Angie also summarized follow-up items from a recent work session, including evaluating special education caseloads, strategic use of one-time categorical funds and reviewing transportation route efficiencies.
What happens next: Angie said staff will provide a list of recommended shifts and supply-budget reviews to the board in March.
