Staff (Speaker 5) presented three bids for tree removal and flood debris cleanup at County Lake. The bids included: John Beal at $11,500 for downed trees with an additional $3,000 for debris cleanup (total $14,500); BP Tree Company at $3,900 for trees plus $1,300 debris (total $5,200); and Sunny Slope at $8,750 for trees plus $6,750 debris (total $15,500).
Commissioners and staff discussed contractor familiarity with the site, local disposal capacity, timing (contractors warned wet conditions could delay completion past the March 31 scope date) and bonding/licensing. After discussion the board moved to accept the low, qualified bid and proceed with the full scope of work. The motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Staff noted disposal options at the county burn site and that some material could be stockpiled until capacity existed. Work will proceed subject to site conditions and contractor availability.
