Clerk introduces bills and bond initiative; majority leader moves to adjourn until March 3

The Maryland House of Delegates’ reading clerk began the floor’s legislative business on Feb. 22 by reading introductory House bills and bond initiatives, including bond initiative number 57 (dated 03/02/2026), which the clerk said was referred to the Appropriations Committee.

Later in the evening, after a series of recognitions and member announcements, the presiding officer recognized the majority leader, who moved that “the House stands adjourned until Tuesday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m.” The motion was made in open floor proceedings and the presiding officer closed the session with members leaving for the recess.

Announcements during the floor included scheduled party caucus meetings the following morning and introductions of the doctor of the day and award winners in the gallery. The transcript does not record a roll-call vote on the adjournment motion; the motion was presented and the session ended shortly afterward.
