A recent meeting of the St. Bernard Village Council ended with members placing an additional-appropriation ordinance on the agenda for the next council meeting and scheduling consideration of a contract for the village safety/service director.
Auditor Brickley presented Ordinance 13-20-24 as "additional appropriations," identifying the largest line item as "$1,200,000 for tax refunds." She said other items included $10,000 for City Hall maintenance, $4,000 for garage maintenance, $10,000 for equipment maintenance, $20,000 for park maintenance and $1,000 for City Hall supplies. Following the auditor's report, Councilman Culbertson moved to place the ordinance on the table for the next meeting; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
After an executive session to discuss personnel and pending litigation, Councilman Morton made a motion to put a contract to approve the safety/service director on the table for the next council meeting; it was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Other procedural motions carried during the session: the council approved the written minutes of the April 25 meeting, excused the absent member (Schuldmeyer), and voted to adjourn at the meeting's close. Several motions to enter executive session (personnel and pending litigation) were approved by roll call with six ayes and no nays.
