At its March 2 meeting the Currituck County Board of Commissioners took the following formal actions:
- PB 25-20 (Shortcut Farms conditional rezoning): Board voted to deny the rezoning request (motion to deny carried by voice vote). (See separate coverage.)
- Demolition ordinances: The board adopted Demolition Ordinance 2088 (Caratoke Highway property) on second reading and adopted Demolition Ordinance 2090 (a different Caratoke Highway property) on second reading; both motions passed by majority voice votes as required for second reading.
- Appointments: The board appointed Louis Davis to the Game Commission for a term ending 06/01/2027 (motion passed).
- Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda (details in agenda packet) by voice vote.
- PB 26-02 (Currituck Way): The board approved a motion to defer PB 26-02 to the next meeting.
- TDA budget amendments: As the Tourism Development Authority the board approved two budget amendments — one to replace an auditorium projector at the Wildlife Education Center and another to purchase a 20‑foot easement along Section T of Ocean Sands to build a multiuse path along NC 12 (funded from occupancy‑tax funds) — motions carried.
- Closed session: The board voted to enter closed session under North Carolina law to discuss strategy for negotiating the acquisition of 3.66 acres on Tolles Creek Road (APV LLC), noting the parcel and purpose in the motion.
