Commissioner Tish Becker leaves after nine years; two vacancies announced

County Peterson told the Rio Rancho Parks and Recreation Commission that Commissioner Tish Becker has decided to leave her role after approximately nine years of service.

"We want to thank you for all of your service these past... nine years," County Peterson said, acknowledging Becker's terms and contributions. Peterson said the governing body now has two vacancies (District 1 and District 2) and explained the appointment process: eligible applicants must submit an application to the city clerk's office, meet eligibility requirements, be interviewed by the mayor, and, if selected by the mayor, be approved at a governing-body meeting.

Commissioners offered public thanks during comments and the meeting adjourned. No formal appointment was made at the session; staff encouraged commissioners and the public to suggest potential applicants.
