Committee approves consent agenda; first reading set for overnight Odyssey of the Mind trip

The Biddeford School Committee unanimously approved the consent agenda at its April 9 meeting, clearing nominations, teacher appointments, stipends and several resignations.

Chair read the consent items which included nominations and appointments for BMS teachers and stipends; after a motion and second committee members approved the consent block by unanimous voice vote.

Later in the meeting the committee took the first reading of a BHS/BMS overnight field trip for Odyssey of the Mind. A motion to approve the first reading was moved and seconded; members praised the program and wished teams success at the world finals. "It's really great to see the routines... and incredible teamwork and just really great problem solving," the chair said in support of the trip.

Several second-reading items (items D and E) were moved as a block and advanced without objection. The administration also invited student presenters from the multicultural fair to attend a future meeting.

Next step: routine approvals proceed in future meetings; student representatives and program presentations are scheduled for an upcoming meeting.
