The Haslett high-school chorale and district choral program received recognition at the Michigan Music Conference and from the Michigan School Vocal Music Association, the choir director told the board.
The director said the Hazlett/Haslett (transcript name corrected to Haslett) Chorale was selected through a blind audition and received a plaque for its performance. He described recent accomplishments including 49 soloist events at the district level, with 42 advancing to state-level consideration; ensembles are also competing for spots that could advance to All‑State festival performances.
"We were chosen through a blind audition process," the presenter said, noting the program's recent statewide honors and the opportunity for students to perform on larger stages. Board members praised the program and said they appreciated the students' accomplishments.
The choir director shared printed programs with the board and thanked staff and parents who support student participation. Board members encouraged continued community recognition and congratulated students and staff ahead of travel and festival dates.
