The chair recommended the board approve a contract to employ "Miss Cook" as superintendent, summarizing the search and interview process and the board's apparent consensus. The chair said administrators reviewed several resumes and conducted interviews before recommending the candidate. "It was so abundantly clear, that we had a candidate that ... it was genuine consensus," the chair said.
A motion was made and seconded. During roll-call, board members registered their assent. The chair framed the hire as one of the board s most important duties and said the action aims to set the incoming superintendent up for a successful transition.
Board members used their closing remarks to congratulate the candidate and to thank staff and community members involved in the hiring process. The meeting proceeded to other agenda items after the motion was approved.
