At the March 19 meeting the board heard an academic update on a new Ohio report‑card component called 'college‑career‑workforce‑military readiness' that will first appear in the 2024–25 report card.
Missus Warren (speaker 8) explained the measure comprises multiple pathways — remediation‑free scores on ACT/SAT, honors diplomas, AP/IB completion, 12 or more college credits, apprenticeships, military enlistment and work‑based learning hours — and that districts will receive a percentage based on the number of students meeting at least one indicator divided by the four‑year graduation cohort. She said the district’s current report‑only data for 2023–24 showed "39 of our students of 80 of our students met this requirement. So that puts us at 48.8%." She also cautioned that some students who qualify may not be reported, particularly those whose dual‑enrollment or CTE coursework is recorded by an external provider.
The superintendent and the presenter described steps to increase accurate reporting, including using a senior survey via SchoolLinks to collect alumni contact information and coordinating with CTE providers so student credentials are captured for Northridge’s report card.
What happens next: District staff will work to improve data collection and outreach to graduates so that future report cards reflect students’ post‑secondary plans and credentials more fully. No board action was required; the item was an informational presentation.
