The superintendent announced a March ribbon-cutting for the new Collins Softball/Baseball Complex and invited the community to attend tours and celebratory events once dates are finalized.
"Don't forget, coming up in March, we'll be cutting the ribbon for, our new Collins Softball Baseball Complex," the superintendent said, adding that the project had been planned since Collins was built and that the district was excited to provide better facilities for student athletes who previously lacked locker rooms and indoor practice space.
The superintendent also praised the Shelby County Education Foundation for hosting a teachers-of-the-year banquet and said Representative Jennifer Decker presented a proclamation to the winners. The superintendent reported Judge Ison presented a proclamation to some FFA students during FFA week and said the district would like to expand the FFA program to three pathways; the farm committee has met and will meet again to plan the expansion.
The superintendent encouraged the community to celebrate and attend upcoming events and reminded listeners the district will release dates and more details through official communications.
