The North Ridgeville City Board of Education paused its regular meeting on Sept. 17 to honor the district’s transportation mechanics for maintaining a perfect inspection record.
A presenter (speaker S5) told the Board that under the leadership of head mechanic and supervisor Tim Kedmerich, alongside technicians John Lubinski and Joey Davis, "every single school bus has passed these inspections without a single failure." The presenter said the Ohio State Patrol’s inspection manual runs to roughly 128 pages and that, in 2024, the district’s fleet underwent 84 state inspections.
The recognition noted the team’s long hours and daily preventative maintenance work, thanking them for contributing to student and driver safety. "These guys are here well before the sun comes up... and well after the sun goes down, making sure our buses remain safe," the presenter said.
The Board recessed briefly so the mechanics could be celebrated in person. No formal action was required for the recognition.
The presentation linked the maintenance work to the district’s transportation safety oversight; the presenter also thanked the mechanics for supporting safety for district students and drivers.
