The Mukwonago School District board returned to open session at 6:31 p.m. and moved to take action on items discussed in executive session, including a recommendation for the high school principal position. A staff member recommended Stephanie Blue and described her track record in curriculum development and prior leadership roles.
"I am sharing this with great enthusiasm, recommending Stephanie Blue for the role of principal at Mukwonago High School," the staff member said, citing Blue’s work on a guaranteed and viable K‑12 curriculum and previous roles including principal of Prairie View Elementary and director of student learning.
Committee member (motion) moved to offer the position to Stephanie Blue; another committee member seconded the motion. The board called for the ayes and the motion carried.
The board also approved action items later in the meeting, including a modified contract for Lauren Lemke (moving to an 80% contract effective March 18) and accepted resignations from Trish Dahl (advanced learning plan teacher), Colleen Hoyne (principal of Eagleville Elementary), Amber Lee (4K teacher at Prairie View Elementary) and Brynn Rohde (associate principal at Mukwonago High School). A committee member raised a question about a reduced occupational therapist FTE; staff said a long‑term substitute is in place for the remainder of the year and the district will pursue a longer‑term fill plan.
The board announced it would return to closed session later in the evening to discuss a property matter that required additional information.
The appointment and the personnel motions were approved by voice vote; the minutes will be updated to reflect corrections noted during the consent agenda.
Next steps: the district will finalize the contract with Stephanie Blue and update the personnel records. The board will consider the library plan and other items at its next scheduled meeting.
