The Templeton Advisory Committee unanimously appointed April as the advisory committee clerk during its Feb. 26 meeting, Chairwoman Jacqueline Macomber said. The appointment followed public nominations and a voice vote in which committee members indicated support.
The move came as Macomber publicly thanked longtime member Noel for ‘‘years and years’’ of service and invited him to remain involved informally. The chair said she would update the committee roster on the town website.
Committee members also asked staff to follow up on several accounting items while reorganizing, including questions about special-article funds and the treatment of proceeds from the sale of Baldwinville Elementary School. Town accountant Amber Duqueau’s written responses—distributed in meeting packets—were cited as the basis for several clarifying questions about how special articles are reviewed and returned to the general fund when appropriate.
The committee handled the appointment by motion and voice vote; the motion (to find a replacement for Noel as clerk) was proposed and members indicated unanimous approval. No formal roll-call votes were recorded in the transcript. The committee directed staff to post the updated clerk information on the committee web page and to provide the legal email referenced about the Baldwinville sale for further action at Annual Town Meeting.
The committee adjourned after brief member comments and thanks to Noel.
