The Mora Public School District board unanimously accepted a package of gifts and donations and approved several personnel-related memorandums of understanding Tuesday night, including a bargaining agreement for the EMM Local 1802 unit.
Board member Dakota moved to accept donations earmarked for media centers, robotics and the FFA; Deb seconded. Chair called for a roll-call voice vote and Dakota, Ken, Amy, Deb, Matt and Scott each answered “aye,” and the motion passed unanimously. The donations listed in board materials included Spirit of the Northland books for media centers and funds for the robotics team and Mora FFA.
Superintendent Dan described two MOUs tied to recent negotiations with Education Minnesota: one addressing earned sick and safe leave and another that permits staff pursuing licensure in high‑needs areas (special education and CTE) up to five days of leave to complete required placements. The committee recommended approval; the board approved both MOUs by voice vote.
The board also considered and approved the 2023–2025 EMM Local 1802 AFL‑CIO bargaining agreement. Chair moved the bargaining agreement forward after committee members said they had reviewed a redline version and summaries. The motion carried on a voice vote.
No substantive opposition to these items was recorded during the public board meeting. The meeting then continued with presentations and other business before the board recessed into closed session for the superintendent’s midyear evaluation.
