Board accepts superintendent's resignation, approves hires and multiple tenures

The Delaware Academy board voted to accept the resignation of Superintendent Kelly Zimmerman and proceeded with a slate of personnel actions, including hiring new teachers, granting tenure to several staff members and appointing an interim elementary principal.

During the personnel segment the board approved new hires and recommended appointments including a high-school biology hire and Dan Sheldon for social-studies instruction. Board members introduced candidates and praised their lessons and readiness. The board also voted to grant tenure to multiple teachers, including Sean Newman; trustees spoke in support and the motion carried.

Chair (Speaker 1) announced the appointment of Robert Mackey as interim elementary-school principal.
