During the May 14 budget hearing, district administrators said one three‑year board seat will be on the May 21 ballot with two candidates. The administration announced a meet‑the‑candidates discussion will be held at 7:00 p.m. following the public meeting and encouraged voters to participate in early or absentee voting.
Matt said absentee and early ballots are available now and reminded residents the clerk must receive absentee ballots by 5:00 p.m. next Tuesday (election day). He summarized voter eligibility: U.S. citizenship, age 18 or older, and residency in the district for at least 30 days prior to the vote.
A staff member also encouraged community members to volunteer in district programs and explained that regular volunteers must complete New York State fingerprinting and clearance (with an associated fee) before serving.
The board will accept ballots and decide outcomes at the conclusion of the voting process on May 21; the district will also hold the candidate discussion tonight as an opportunity for voters to hear from the two candidates before casting ballots.
