District says it is in compliance with new workplace-violence mandate and will develop an AI-in-education statement

An administrator identified in the record as Dr. Romanelli praised district cabinet members for managing a challenging budget year and said the district had a moment of clarity about their work. He said the district plans to create a formal statement on AI in education and work with the technology committee to demonstrate how AI is, and could be, used across grade spans from K–12. "We want to create a statement on AI in education for West Islip," he said, adding that administrators and the tech committee will tour classrooms to highlight current and planned AI use.

The board and superintendent framed this as an early-stage district policy and implementation discussion; no formal policy or board vote occurred during the meeting.
