The Wood-Ridge Board of Education on Monday approved a consent agenda that included a three-year contract with Apogee for a district website and mobile application and authorized submission of preliminary 2024–25 budget numbers to the county for review.
The board voted unanimously to approve a package of curriculum, personnel, policy, facilities and finance items. The motion, moved by Mister Garvin and seconded by Miss Milano, covered enumerated items across curriculum and instruction, personnel, policy, buildings and grounds, finance and board operations and passed on a roll-call vote with all present trustees voting yes.
Superintendent Alvaro highlighted several agenda items earlier in the meeting, telling the board that the district will seek county review of its preliminary 2024–25 budget figures before the public budget hearing in May. "Once the review is received the budget will be presented in the public board meeting in May," Alvaro said.
The board administrator previewed the Apogee contract on the agenda as a three-year agreement for a website platform and live mobile app beginning in July and running through June 30, 2027. The administrator also thanked staff for recent transitions to online meal-account deposits through Payschools.
Trustees also approved the districtwide summer learning acceleration program and extended school year programs, scheduled to run 24 days beginning Wednesday, June 26; the district will be closed on Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5. Alvaro described the programs as districtwide offerings intended to support learning over the summer.
The board recorded no opposing votes. The board chair closed the meeting after completing remaining procedural items.
