The Bath Central School District Board of Education approved several personnel actions and an equipment-and-controls purchase tied to the district’s capital project.
The board accepted the retirement of Janice Abraham, a classroom math teacher, and thanked her for her service. The board also approved an interim appointment to fill the middle-school assistant principal role (Mr. Gilpin in an interim capacity) and approved several instructional hires, including Jennifer Hutchins (work-based coordinator, contract role), Nicholas Thurian (math teacher) and Josh Butler (technology teacher). Other permanent and probationary non-instructional appointments were approved during the consent agenda. The motions carrying these personnel actions passed without objection.
On capital work, the board voted to approve a security-and-controls quote from Day Automation so the district can pursue aid recovery as part of the larger capital project; the board also approved a CPIR resolution classifying a capital outlay project as Type 2 (no impacts) as presented. The project manager reported that the phase-1 chiller delivery is expected in the summer, phase 2 setup is under way and phase 3 work is likely to begin in June, with temporary facilities being set up ahead of that work.
All personnel and bid votes were recorded as carrying or approved by consensus; the board directed staff to proceed with contract administration and with next steps for capital-phase scheduling.
