During the community comment period April 10, Mrs. Foring addressed the board to correct a prior statement and to raise concerns about conduct she experienced at the March 6 meeting.
Foring said she misstated a prior figure and clarified that enrollment fell from 1,859 in 2013 to 1,629 in 2023 — a decline of about 230 students (roughly 13%), not 25% as she had earlier said.
She then described interactions at the March 6 meeting that she characterized as harassing and demeaning, saying an employee repeatedly interrupted and accused her of lying without providing supporting detail. "I am not a liar," she said, and asked for respectful clarifications rather than public berating. Foring said some of her March 6 questions were not answered and that she regularly provides supporting documents to the board.
Foring also referenced district audits and a state controller’s audit, saying those documents showed irregularities; she suggested the employee’s reaction could be related to a nearly $10,000 raise she said she had uncovered. A board speaker interjected that the controller’s audit showed the district “did not consistently follow general municipal law.”
Board members listened and did not take formal action in response to the comments during this meeting; the chair reiterated that the community comment period is not a Q&A and described the three-minute limit for visitors.
The board did not resolve the conduct allegation during the meeting. Foring said she would continue to submit documents and to exercise her right to comment at future meetings.
