Board approves five‑year agreement to host Southwest Minnesota State student teachers

The Ogilvie Public School District board unanimously approved a five‑year agreement with Southwest Minnesota State University to host student teachers, a contract the administration said is new to the district and backdated to match the university's August–July fiscal year.

Superintendent Kathy Belsheim described it as "an honor when Minnesota State universities ask us to be able to place their student teachers at Ogilvie Public Schools," noting the arrangement builds on existing partnerships with other institutions. She said Southwest Minnesota State already has at least one candidate interested in student teaching locally.

Board members voted without discussion and the motion passed unanimously. Administration said the contract begins in August and will run for five years with dates aligned to the university fiscal calendar.
