Board roundup: routine payrolls, claims, personnel actions and a late appointment approved

The North Harrison Com School Corp board approved a series of routine financial and personnel items in a single meeting on March 14.

Financial actions included approval of claims numbered 40863 through 41107 and a voucher for a water-line repair (voucher 40972) with an estimated cost of about $1,585. The board also approved regular payrolls for March 29 and April 12, 2024, and accepted the February 29, 2024 reconciliation as presented.

On personnel matters the board accepted resignations and retirements including Cody Johnson (middle school teacher, resignation effective Feb. 14, 2024), Catherine Price (North Harrison Elementary, effective March 6, 2024) and recognized the retirement of Karen Freiberg (middle school teacher/high-school cheer coach, effective end of Feb. 2024). The board approved multiple coaching and volunteer appointments for the 2024 seasons.

During late items the board approved appointment of Ashley Beyer as a part-time instructional assistant at North Harrison Elementary, effective March 19, 2024.

All routine motions reported in the meeting were approved by voice vote; where the transcript recorded a tally it was 5-0 in favor.

What’s next: These approvals permit continued operations, payroll processing, contractor and personnel onboarding; administration will return to the board with contract recommendations and further action where required.
