The Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Local Board of Education approved its updated five-year forecast and a set of routine items at the May 9 meeting.
Treasurer staff presented the five-year forecast update the board must file by May 31 with the state department of education. Administrators said the forecast assumes a continuing state funding freeze with a conservative 1% increase in real-estate revenues after the reappraisal year; the forecast shows a positive balance across the five-year window under those assumptions. The board moved to approve the forecast and approved it by roll call.
Separately, the board approved a lengthy consent agenda covering certificated and support staff employment, supplemental contracts, substitute and summer custodial hires. Trustees also approved the recommended 2024 summer high-school credit recovery program (program dates and fees were presented) and authorized out-of-state travel for the high-school marching band to Indianapolis for the Bands of America Grand Nationals in November 2024. All motions were seconded and carried by roll call votes of members present.
At the end of the public meeting, the board moved into executive session under Ohio Revised Code RC 121.22(g)(1) to discuss employment, discipline and compensation matters and later returned to adjourn the meeting.
