The Kohler School Board on March 8 accepted the resignation of business manager Matt Keltzer, who read a written statement announcing he will step down after nearly nine years with the district.
"After nearly 9 wonderful years, I'm resigning my position as business manager," Keltzer read aloud for the record. In his letter he thanked current and prior administrations, staff and "the myriad of Blue Bomber supporters" and said serving the Kohler School District had been "an honor and a privilege."
Superintendent Lisa praised Keltzer's steady hand on the district's finances and his ability to "take the numbers and weave the story," calling his departure "a regrettable loss." The finance committee chair called Keltzer "exceedingly competent" and said the district had been put in a strong position by his stewardship.
Board members noted Keltzer will remain for the April and May meetings and the motion to accept his resignation carried on a voice vote. The transcript records the board's favorable vote but does not provide a roll-call tally in the record.
Keltzer's resignation will trigger the district's next steps on filling the business manager role; the board moved into closed session later in the meeting to consider employment matters.
