Kohler School Board approves 2025–26 calendar despite concerns about trip conflicts and long Christmas break

The Kohler School Board approved the 2025–26 school calendar at its March 8 meeting following brief discussion about scheduling trade-offs.

Board members and administrators discussed the calendar's spring-break placement, which falls before Easter, and noted that this year the music department's band and choir trips have at times conflicted with athletic schedules. The finance committee chair and the superintendent said the music department would retain autonomy to select trip dates, and board members acknowledged there will always be scheduling conflicts requiring difficult choices.

Several members also observed the 2025–26 calendar includes a longer-than-usual Christmas break, a point raised during discussion but not altered in the motion.
