The Pearl River Union Free School District Board of Education approved the 2024–25 administrative budget for the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) and certified three candidates to the BOCES Board at a special meeting on April 16, 2024.
The Chair told the board the administrative budget for BOCES was "$6,688,570," and asked members whether they had reviewed the proposal; a Committee member replied that the board had reviewed the budget and had attended a full presentation the previous week.
The Chair announced three nominees for three-year terms on the BOCES Board: Catherine Bowera, Jackie Dougalgren and Rosemary Petrozella. A Committee member expressed support for the slate, saying, "And I'm very happy with the selections," and noting that the candidates represent neighboring municipalities and that Petrozella has served for about 15 years on the BOCES board.
The Chair asked for approval of the consent agenda, which included certification of the BOCES administrative budget and the election of the three BOCES board members. A Committee member moved to accept the consent agenda and a Committee member seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote.
A Committee member then moved to adjourn the special meeting; the motion passed. The Chair announced the next regular meeting of the board will be held April 30, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the Administrative Office.
