Perrydale SD 21 board approves superintendent contract, other administrative contracts and new hires

Perrydale SD 21’s board unanimously approved multiple administrative contracts and heard announcements of several new hires and one resignation.

The Chair moved to approve the administrative contract for superintendent Dan Dugan; after a second the Chair called the vote and ‘‘Motion passes unanimously,’’ the Chair stated. The board also approved an administrative contract for Shane Aaron Henry and an employment contract described as ‘‘for ’24’’; both motions were moved, seconded and passed unanimously.

Why it matters: Administrative contracts and leadership continuity directly affect district operations, budget and personnel stability.

In personnel updates the superintendent introduced new appointments and departures. Sean Davis will serve as the middle‑school track coach; the superintendent noted Davis’s past records and ties to district track activities. Tammy Morrow joined the district from Fall City and is supporting third‑grade reading and math groups along with recess and drop‑off duties; Kylie (introduced previously) was noted to be fitting in seamlessly. Kirk Fairchild was announced as the new CTE shop/ag instructor with experience in metals and wood shops and tractor certification work.

The superintendent announced a resignation: Cheyenne Locke has accepted a position in Washington (Hanford) and will remain through the end of the school year; the district reposted the math position with corrected application details.

Board members thanked administrators and staff for their work and for facilitating student opportunities.
