At its regular meeting the Mount Union Area School Board approved several operational items affecting food service, student meals, technology licensing and the district's share of a regional career-and-technology center budget.
The board voted to accept Metz Culinary Management's food-service proposal for the 2024–25 school year with a one-year initial term and up to four one-year renewal options; the motion passed with a roll call affirmation. The board also approved district participation in the summer lunch program running June 3 through Aug. 2, 2024, to be held Monday–Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on-site at the high school (no takeout meals during the specified week around July 1).
On technology, the board approved renewal of the IU 13 consortium enrollment for Microsoft volume licensing for a five-year period (June 1, 2024–May 31, 2029) with estimated costs between $20,000 and $25,000.
During consideration of the Huntington County Career and Technology Center's proposed operating budget for 2024–25 (total $2,328,810), board members identified a numeric typo in the stated district share. The figure in the packet was corrected during discussion (administrators and board members confirmed the district share should read approximately $116,641), an amendment was made and the amended motion was approved.
Personnel items approved on the consent agenda included assistant volunteer girls softball coaches for 2023–24 and a $4,400 stipend for the interim head girls softball coach (Dennis Drake). A special-education summer program through TIU 11 and district professional-development participation in PASA DLM Cohort 1 (no cost) were also approved.
All motions described above were made, seconded and recorded on the meeting minutes; where the transcript shows abstentions or corrections those are noted in the posted minutes and will be reflected in official minutes and payroll/contract records.
