At a Mt. Lebanon School Board meeting, district staff recognized more than a dozen retiring employees from classrooms, custodial and food-service roles and office support, thanking them for decades of service to the district.
The presenter read biographical summaries for each retiree, asking the room to join in congratulating longtime employees including Timothy Herzog (24.5 years), Louise Marino (34.75 years), Stephanie Ross (32.75 years), Kimberly Salvador (28.75 years) and Christian "Chris" Stein (30.75 years). The presenter also recognized food-service and clerical retirees and several staff who were unable to attend, such as Peter Donardo (26.75 years) and Paula Hogan Miller (39.75 years).
A meeting participant said, "I love Mount Lebanon... I'm so blessed... I will miss all the kids," reflecting the emotional tone of several short remarks as retirees were acknowledged.
The presenter noted combined totals for the group: professional certificated retirees represent 193.5 years of service, and support staff retirees total about 209 years of service. Staff invited retirees present to come forward for a group photograph with the board.
The board did not take formal action during the recognition; the segment concluded with the presenter moving on to the final agenda topic, the district budget.
