Carlton Wills of the 3rd Ward spoke during the public‑with‑business portion of the Feb. 25 Davenport City Council meeting, urging code enforcement on properties he said were accumulating vehicles and trash.
Wills said he had contacted public works and the city previously but believed enforcement was not moving quickly enough. He described seeing carloads of material and an RV left on a property and said the condition was worsening: "I'm afraid it's gonna turn into junkyard if we let it go too long," Wills said. He asked the council to take action to enforce code violations and prevent further deterioration of neighborhood conditions.
The mayor thanked Wills for raising the concern. No immediate enforcement action was announced at the meeting and the item was presented as a public comment that may be followed up by the appropriate city departments.
