Christine Delaney, speaking for Tibbits, told the Coldwater Downtown Development Authority on Feb. 28 that the theater has a full spring and summer schedule and a larger staff to support it.
"We are one of the few places where you can see them on the big screen in the region," Delaney said, referring to the Academy Awards shorts the theater will screen. She outlined an events calendar that includes the Kenny Awards, a showing of the documentary Coldwater Kitchen, a Spanish-language comedy evening (Commedia en Espa f1ol), a comedy festival featuring Carmen Lynch, performances from Tommy Raymond Ryman, and a 50th-anniversary screening of Jesus Christ Superstar with guest Ted Neeley.
The presentation emphasized community outreach and bilingual programming. Delaney said Tibbits is introducing bilingual volunteer support for the Spanish-language event and expects season tickets to be available soon, with individual summer show tickets on sale in April. She also noted Tibbits still seeks a sponsor for the main show Over the River and Through the Woods.
Delaney announced two recent hires on staff: Ellie Calvajal joins as marketing communications lead, and Tammy Huntley is on board part time to assist with summer-theater projects. She named several sponsors for upcoming shows: Parish Excavating (Forever Plaid), Frederick Family Dental (Sweeney Todd), the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (Rent) and Haws Caywood PC (comedy festival).
Board members responded positively and encouraged promotion of downtown events. Delaney closed by asking the board to help spread the word about the theater's expanded season.
The DDA will hear more on marketing and ticket timing as Tibbits finalizes ads and sponsorships.
