A representative for Ridgewood Golf Course updated Parma City Council during the Dec. 29 special meeting on the facility’s 2025 finances, describing a year that weather and one-time startup costs affected reported cash results but left the operation close to break-even on an adjusted basis.
Speaking to council, Mr. Pitterdi said the golf course began 2025 with a $508,000 balance and finished the year with "over $475,000," an approximate $32,000 decline from the starting balance. He attributed much of the pressure to unusually heavy spring rainfall — "one of the rainiest springs in Parma we've had in the last 30 years," and said June alone recorded about 7.3 inches of rain. He also listed startup and operational line items linked to the new event center — including an approximate $42,000 increase in utilities — plus the hospitality manager’s salary and benefits, PRS increases and initial bar inventory, which he said together amount to about $132,000.
"Technically, when I back out those line items, [we] come to about $132,000 that we haven't had to occur in previous years... Technically, we made very close to a $100,000 this past year," Pitterdi said. He thanked staff by name — including Dave Chuba and Amber Caldwell — and reported positive public response to events such as Frosty's Fest.
Council did not take formal action on the golf-course report; the remarks were delivered during the public-comment/presentation portion of the special meeting. No council member disputed the figures during the exchange. The update was presented as an informational year-end summary rather than a request for additional funding.
Next steps listed in the meeting were procedural: the council proceeded to the scheduled ordinance and resolution votes for year-end appropriations and transfers.
