The board dedicated part of its meeting to community presentations and recognitions, including a video from Hawkins STEM Academy that highlighted an adaptive ballet program developed with the Toledo Ballet and the Toledo Botanical Garden.
Teachers and staff described how students used dance to reinforce STEM learning; the district plans to submit the program for national recognition and additional funding. Students from Rosa Parks Elementary performed the school song and shared aspirations—one student said, "My name is Savannah, and I wanna be an artist." The board also noted a 175th anniversary exhibit at the Lucas County Public Library and said the district will post a recorded history recitation online for the public.
The meeting concluded the presentation segment by naming district retirees and reading years of service for each. The district credited the retirees with a combined 266 years and 8 months of service to Toledo Public Schools and invited them to be recognized at the horseshoe following the meeting.
