Board approves routine consent items, personnel actions and budget propositions for ballot

During the meeting the Board approved a series of routine motions and personnel actions and placed budget propositions on the May ballot. The board accepted the minutes of Feb. 7, 2024, and approved financial reports and the independent audit; motions were made and seconded and the chair announced the motions passed.

Specific actions taken included declaring certain technology equipment surplus, approving facility use for the Zachary Allen Memorial Fund at School 7 and School 9 softball fields, accepting professional and civil‑service personnel recommendations, approving several terminations as presented (a lunch monitor and a special‑education aide), and accepting the retirement notices of multiple veteran educators. The board also appointed election poll clerks for the May 21 budget vote and approved summer playground 2024 registration fees.

On personnel, the board formally approved the appointment of Thomas Brando as maintenance supervisor. The board accepted a donation of a viola for School 9's orchestra room.

The meeting recorded at least one abstention on the spring coaching staff approvals (one abstention noted) and otherwise motions were announced as passing by voice vote.

The board scheduled a budget hearing for May 8 and the community budget vote for May 21, 2024.
