Committee reopens LD 2189 to correct drafting placement, revotes and passes as amended

The Joint Standing Committee on Health Coverage, Insurance, and Financial Services reopened a work session on LD 2189 after staff alerted members that a technical drafting change was needed to place a provision in the correct statutory chapter.

Representative Anne Marie Mastracchio moved to reconsider the committee's prior action on LD 2189 and then moved that the measure "ought to pass as amended" with the additional amendment moving the provision to the proper chapter. Representative Bob Foley seconded the motion. The committee proceeded to record votes, and the chair announced 10 affirmative votes and 1 negative.

The action was procedural and focused solely on correcting statutory placement of language; committee staff circulated the amendment language and the committee indicated it would complete any remaining votes or sign jackets as needed.
