The Moreland School District Board of Trustees opened its meeting with a live third‑grade presentation of a classroom "wax museum," during which students dressed as historical figures and delivered short speeches.
Students described their characters and explained project choices in front of trustees and families. One student summarized the activity as "when students from different classes dress up as people from history," and other students portrayed figures ranging from Admiral Grace Hopper to Mahatma Gandhi.
Board members and staff asked the students how they selected their subjects, praised their presentations and thanked teachers and parents for supporting the project. Speaker 5 called the student presentations "the favorite part" of meetings and urged the audience to remember the students when the board deliberates on policy and budget items.
Principal Sherry Vasquez was specifically acknowledged by district staff for supporting the activity. Trustees invited the students to remain for the evening's business and thanked them for coming.
The board then moved to routine business after expressing appreciation for the student work and community turnout. The meeting record shows no formal action tied to the presentations.
The meeting continued with the superintendent's report and other agenda items.
