Los Angeles City Council approves liens, settlements and multiple motions in regular session

The Los Angeles City Council approved a slate of consent items, received and filed liens, and authorized multiple settlements and motions during its regular meeting.

Clerk announcements identified items noticed for public hearing and those continued; members approved minutes and moved multiple lien items to receive-and-file status. The council approved settlement recommendations for several cases, with the clerk summarizing amounts recommended for expenditure (for example, up to $200,000 for Moses Sisoyan v. City of Los Angeles and up to $260,000 for Yolanda White v. City of Los Angeles). Numerous roll calls recorded 13 ayes on consent measures.

Council leadership also moved and approved Rule 23 findings for a mudslide-related emergency item so the council could take immediate action, recorded as agreed to following a roll call. Several other procedural items were posted and referred without objection or sent forthwith as indicated.

No individual amendments to the underlying ordinances or charter provisions were adopted during the consent roll calls shown; votes were recorded as procedure- and settlement-focused actions. The clerk opened, closed and tallied multiple roll calls through the session, and members made standard recusals where conflicts were declared (for example, Councilmember Price recused from item 28).
