Council Confirms Yolanda Regalado to Fire Commission

The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday approved the mayoral nomination of Yolanda Regalado to the city's Fire Commission.

A councilmember introduced Regalado's nomination, noting her longtime ties to the Harbor area and to first-responder families and urging colleagues to hear public comment before a vote. The nomination was called special; after limited member comment and no further debate, the council opened and closed the roll and the presiding official announced the nomination adopted with all members voting in favor.

Regalado was present in the chamber and supporters from the community attended public comment to voice their support. The council did not detail an effective date beyond the standard adoption on the day of the vote.
