At its Feb. 25 meeting the South Central Regional Transit District board approved two resolutions: one to confirm amended officer appointments and another to adjust membership dues based on updated CPI and population data.
The board approved resolution 2026-18 to memorialize officer and alternate appointments from the previous meeting. The resolution, as presented, confirmed Commissioner Sanchez as board chair and reflected vice-chair and officer assignments for municipal representatives. The board voted by roll-call with all present voting in favor.
The board then considered a finance presentation by Adam Shea proposing a dues adjustment. Shea said the last increase was in 2022 and that using the 2020 census and CPI adjustments would raise the per-person rate from $0.55 to $0.62. He said the change would raise total membership revenue to $142,064.69 and increase the City of Las Cruces' share by $12,082.76. Shea also explained an error in prior calculations for Do f1a Ana County that had left the county at a higher per-person rate; the recalculation corrects that and in some cases reduces what the county will pay even though the per-capita rate increased.
Following questions from board members on methodology and timing, the board approved resolution 2026-19 (the FY-26 membership-dues adjustment) by roll-call vote; all members present voted yes.
The board did not discuss refunds or retroactive billing at length; staff said they would work with county finance staff to reconcile any discrepancies from earlier years. Both resolutions passed by unanimous roll-call votes at the meeting.
