The Village of Villa Park Board of Trustees approved a series of contracts and routine bills during its March 11 meeting.
Parks and Recreation staff and consultants described Resolution 13A, a proposed agreement with Upland Design Limited of Plainfield for design and construction administration services for Lions Park, including design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding and construction administration. The contract amount is $105,250 plus reimbursable expenses. Trustee Patrick moved the resolution, Trustee Cordova seconded, and trustees voted to adopt it following public comment in support from Cheryl Tucker.
The board also authorized a renewal of the village’s three‑year GIS software license with Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri) of Redlands, California, at an annual cost not to exceed $29,300. Staff said Esri is the industry standard and explained integrations with the village’s permitting software (CityView) and utility/ billing system (Cassell) to support property and permitting workflows.
Trustees approved Resolution 13C to award a three‑year landscape maintenance contract to Langton Group of Woodstock in a total amount of $97,790, with annual escalators. Staff said the contract would save the village approximately $47,000 in staff salary over the contract term and included termination language for unsatisfactory performance.
On the consent agenda the board approved bill listings for the week of Feb. 26, 2024, in the amount of $745,095.60 and for March 11, 2024, in the amount of $427,257.31, for a combined total of $1,172,352.91; the board also approved the Feb. 26 minutes.
All three vendor resolutions and the consent agenda were adopted by roll call vote; recorded trustee votes were affirmative on these items. The board scheduled no additional oversight or reporting requirements in the minutes for these approvals.
